The Celtic Knot or Trinity Knot—from the Latin term, “triquetra”, meaning “triangle”—is thought to symbolize the interconnectedness of the Holy Trinity ~ Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Per one source, the unending, completeness of the loops represent all he many aspects of eternity. This beanie is sized for Preemie/Newborn to Adult, and can be created in a variety of colors; and the ribbon can be interchanged with rope, twine, leather, etc.

Yarn Description:

§ Red Heart SuperSaver (100% Acrylic; 4ply; 8oz/225g)

o  Sample used 1 skein of #0378 Claret; 1 skein of #0633 Dark Sage

Bond Knit Machine:

§ USM Keyplate #3     

§ Row Counter


Other Materials Needed:

§ Latch tool

§ 1-prong transfer tool

§ Garter bar (nylon cord or 12”/14” knitting needle)

§ waste yarn

§ Green ribbon (or color of choice)

§ Several small gold pins

§ Blunt tip plastic or metal needle

Gauge:  not needed

Special Cast-on Technique Used: Figure-8 E-Wrap cast-on


Notes: Please read all instructions thoroughly prior to beginning pattern. To increase size, add ndls in multiples of 10 prior to beginning knitting. To increase or decrease length –add/subtract rows until length desired is reached. For each increase, skip 4 sts before beginning Celtic knot pattern again. Should size or length be increased, ensure to also increase # of yarn skeins necessary to complete pattern. Charts for eyelet row and Celtic Knot pattern included.
