When designing or replicating a pattern, most of us will at some point need to convert from inches to centimeters and vice-versa. Or the pattern may give yarn requirements in ounces, grams, yards, or meters.

How do you determine all those calculations to ensure that sizing will be correct and/or the right amount of yarn is purchased?

{It's a real bummer to run out of yarn and then find out that the needed lot number or even the yarn is no longer available!}

To assist you in avoiding those woes, these metric calculators are offered.

However, if you prefer to do your math calculations manually:

• Multiply by 2.54 to convert inches to centimeters
• Multiply by .3937 to convert centimeters to inches
• Multiply by 28.3495568397 to convert ounces to grams
• Multiply by 0.03527392 to convert grams to ounces
• Multiply by .9144 to convert yards to meters
• Multiply by 1.0936 to convert meters to yards
